Fortnite’s Firebending quests for the Avatar Elements event have arrived, and one asks you to light a campfire. If you usually focus on traveling to major points of interest, you may have never spotted a campfire before or know what they do. Here’s how to light a campfire in Fortnite.

You can find several campfires around Fortnite’s map, particularly in Rebel’s Roost, south of Pleasant Piazza, and around Classy Courts. Generally speaking, you have the best odds of finding a campfire by searching woodsy forest areas. Once you approach a campfire, you just have to interact with it to light the campfire, allowing you to restore some health without using any consumables.

If you’re searching for a campfire as part of the Avatar Elements event, you won’t need any Firebending skills to ignite the campfire. Just approach the campfire and interact with it to quickly light it before continuing the rest of your match to knock out this quest.

Fortnite Chapter 5, Season 2 has eight campfire locations, mostly situated around Rebel’s Roost and Classy Courts. A couple can be found around Restored Reels and one directly south of Pleasant Piazza.

Your best bet for lighting a campfire without several other players interfering is heading north of Rebel’s Roost or to one of the Classy Courts campfires. That way, you have time to visit a campfire before making a quick trek to these landmarks to pick up some loot. You can also search nearby buildings for floor loot and chests before heading to these POIs to gain an advantage over anyone who might’ve beat you to them.

Alternatively, you can wait until the middle of the match when your health is low before visiting a campfire. Although risky, campfires restore health over time, making it a great way to heal yourself before moving on to your next location.
