How to get the Magneto skin in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3

Magneto, the X-Men character whose awesome powers are balanced out by history’s goofiest helmet, is a special skin in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 3.

Like Korra, Solid Snake, Geralt of Rivia, and Wolverine from seasons past, the Magneto skin is exclusive to battle pass holders for the season it appears in, and requires a series of challenges to unlock.

Here is how to unlock Magneto in Fortnite, plus all the various cosmetics and challenges associated with the skin.

How to get Magneto in Fortnite

To get Magneto in Fortnite, you first need to have the Chapter 5 Season 3 battle pass. The skin itself is available as of Tuesday, July 2, and once you have completed three of Magneto’s dedicated list of challenges, the Wastelander Magneto skin is yours. From there, you can complete further challenges to unlock alternate styles and associated cosmetics.

You can unlock Magneto until Chapter 5 Season 3 ends on Aug. 16 at 2 a.m. ET. Once that date has passed, the skin is no longer available to acquire — but provided you’ve unlocked it on your account before then, it’s yours to keep forever.

Magneto challenges and cosmetics list

To unlock Magneto, you need to complete any four challenges from the first page of dedicated Magneto challenges. You can then unlock alternative styles and additional cosmetics by completing further challenges.

Magneto Page 1 Challenges

• Visit Weapon X Lab (rewards Knock, Knock, Clang loading screen)
• Collect Magneto Power (rewards Magneto’s Grasp spray)
• Travel distance in the air with Magneto Power equipped (rewards Magnetized Scrap pickaxe)
• Hit vehicles using Magneto Power (rewards Magneto banner icon)

Completing three of the Page 1 challenges unlocks the Wastelander Magneto skin.

Magneto Page 2 Challenges

• Eliminate opponents with Magneto Power (rewards Crushed GG emoticon)
• Block hits using the Magneto Power (rewards Magnetic Steps glider)
• Damage opponents from one story above or higher (rewards Magnetism Master wrap)
• Configure Rift Beacons (rewards Disassemble emote)

Completing three of the Page 2 quests unlocks an alternative style for the Wastelander Magneto skin.
