Captain Brant was not showing up for me after I met him for the first time. When I went to the Inn he told me to meet him in, I was puzzled as to why he wasn’t there after I waited a couple of days. Turns out, this may not be an error like the game not launching. By passing time till nightfall and heading back to the Inn, I found Captain Brant waiting for me near the Innkeeper. This is something that many will forget. In some cases, certain NPCs will only appear during certain times of the day. A prompt comes up telling you about this.

However, some players have reported that he does not appear even at night. If that’s happening to you, he might be dead. If he is, head to Charnel House in Vernworth. Sometimes NPCs can permanently die, but in Captain Brant’s case, it seems like you can bring him back to life. When he’s back, you might have to wait till nightfall since he appears in the Inn around that time.

In the rare case that he doesn’t appear even after the aforementioned methods, you may need to reload the game to the Inn where you last saved. I can’t confirm this, but from the community, it looks like he might show up after.
