The first part of the FF7 Rebirth Demo, Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim, is available for players to play, but first you gotta know not only how to install it, but whether you have adequate space for it.

Downloading the FF7 Rebirth Demo

Before we get into it, it’s important to note that this demo is exclusively for PS5. If you don’t have access to that console, then you will simply be missing out. It’s likely that the second part of the demo will also be a PS5 exclusive. I’m sure there’ll be plenty of streamers or YouTubers covering the demo so you won’t have to fully miss out.

For the lucky players, head on over to the PlayStation Store. You should see FF7 Rebirth under ‘What’s Hot’. Otherwise, type out the game in the search bar, and it’ll pop up as a result.

Thankfully, it’s super easy to download this demo, as once you’ve got the game’s page up, simply click on the ‘Demo’ button and it’ll start installing. Once it’s downloaded, you’ll be able to get playing!

How Big is the FF7 Rebirth Demo Download?

The FF7 Rebirth Demo is rather meaty for just a demo. It’ll require you to have 48.69GB of free space for it to install.

If you’re hurting for space, there are a couple things you can try:

Deleting games you no longer play will be the first port of call. Even if you have treasured memories with a game that you haven’t played in months or years, it may be time to say goodbye. Just think of all the new memories you’ll make with FF7 Rebirth.

Buying an external hard drive will be the next thing to try. They can be pretty pricey, and will degrade over the years, but having more wiggle room is always something that’ll come in handy.

If you already have an external hard drive, but don’t have just enough space on any one storage device, then a sort out will be in order. Shuffle around files and games between the drives until one has enough to comfortably house the update. If you still don’t have enough space, then I’m sure there must be a thing or two to delete. Don’t horde, now.

Now that you know everything about downloading the FF7 Rebirth Demo, why don’t you check out how to play without Cloud?
