Oh, you have the high ground! It would be a shame if I could magically level things out, right? Here is how to craft and use a Grappling Hook in Enshrouded.

Crafting the Grappling Hook will require a lot of patience as you’ll need to go about gathering several different materials from around the world. Thankfully, the items necessary to craft the Grappling Hook in Enshrouded are not difficult to craft.

Crafting the Grappling Hook in Enshrouded

Using a Workbench (craftable after collecting three String and 8 Wood Logs), you will be able to craft the Grappling Hook using the following items:

4x Metal Scraps: Metal Scraps are possibly the only resource that will cause you some trouble here. These scraps are only found by defeating bandits and searching their camps. These bandits can get extra difficult to attack, so tread lightly.
7x String: You will need to collect a total of 21 Plant Fiber to craft the seven Strings necessary for this recipe since you will need three Plant Fibers to craft a single String in your Crafting menu.
10x Shroud Spores: Collecting Shroud Spores is a decently easy endeavor since all Shroud enemies will drop Shroud Spores. Just go ahead and visit some enshrouded areas and wipe out the shroud population to get these.

Using the Grappling Hook in Enshrouded

Contrary to what you might expect from the Grappling Hook of the Zelda franchise, Enshrouded’s Grappling Hook works more like an interaction type of item. Whenever there is a point at which you can throw your Grappling Hook up, you will be prompted to interact with it. Most of the time this will get you on top of vantage points and across a room, but the Grappling Hook can also allow you to swing from one place to another. Its main use was to get you up the Ancient Spire, but you will be able to use it later on in the game to take some shortcuts and unveil the occasional hidden secret.

As you can see, both crafting and using the Grappling Hook shouldn’t take you a lot of time or learning. Just don’t forget to equip it, otherwise it will remain in your Backpack forever.
