According to Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, the Horizon online game in development at Guerrilla Games was not among the games shelved at Sony amidst widespread layoffs.

The news comes following the PlayStation manufacturer’s plans to reduce its global workforce by around 8%, which includes layoffs at key first-party studios such as Firesprite, Insomniac Games, Guerrilla Games, and Naughty Dog. Furthermore, it was also reported that a new Twisted Metal game in production at Firesprite was shelved.

In regards to Guerrilla Games specifically, it has been claimed that 40 staff members were being laid off as a result of Sony’s restructuring plans.

While Guerrilla Games hasn’t revealed any key details about its Horizon online title, when asked if the game was scrapped, Schreier confirmed that it had not been cancelled.

Guerrilla Games has reportedly been looking to include multiplayer elements in Horizon since the original game, but decided to keep it out in favour of making a dedicated spinoff. There’s no further details available at this point, but with the studio still hiring, it’ll be a while before it’s sees the light of day.
