Hogwarts Legacy TV Show Reportedly In Development At HBO Max

Giant Freakin’ Robot has claimed via “trusted and proven sources” that HBO Max is developing a Hogwarts Legacy TV series.

There’s no details to go on right now and as such it isn’t known if the show will follow the events of Portkey Games and Avalanche Software’s recently-launched Wizarding World RPG or something else entirely. The game takes place during the 1800s, around 100 years before the events of Harry Potter, so there’s plenty of gaps to fill without it being tied directly to the Boy Wizard’s years at Hogwarts.

Hogwarts Legacy was released for PS5, PC and Xbox Series X/S on February 10, 2023. You can read our full review of the Wizarding World RPG here.

Warner Bros. Games is also bringing the game to PS4 and Xbox One in April, with a Nintendo Switch version bringing up the rear in July. The company announced this week that it ‘very pleased‘ with the game’s success so far, noting player engagement has been especially strong.
