Hogwarts Legacy Launch Sale Bigger Than Every Call Of Duty Game Released Since 2017 In Europe

Portkey Games‘ hugely successful Hogwarts Legacy has been named the fastest-selling game in Europe outside of the FIFA franchise in the past six years.

The Wizarding World RPG’s launch sales beat out any Call of Duty game released since 2017, and also topped other major titles including Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption 2. Furthermore, just three weeks after launch, Hogwarts Legacy ranks as the fifth best-selling game of the last year, behind only FIFA 23, Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Grand Theft Auto 5 and Elden Ring.

Oddly enough, February game sales were actually down 10% in Europe despite Hogwarts Legacy’s success, with a total of 12.9 million games sold. However, on the hardware front, PS5 sales witnessed a massive increase in sales in Europe — five times up on the previous year, to be exact.

As previously reported, Hogwarts Legacy is on the verge of eclipsing lifetime sales of Elden Ring in the UK.
