Here Are The First Impressions Of 'Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator' On Xbox

1 month ago 77

It's the day we've all been waiting for! No, it's not Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, nor is it Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2, Avowed or even GTA 6 - it's something much, much bigger than those games!

We're talking, of course, about Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator, which just launched on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S a few hours ago. It's a game where you drive taxis in a realistic fashion, managing your own taxi business in the process, and it features "286 miles of roads in a large area of Barcelona reproduced at 1:1 scale".

There aren't any official reviews available for this one yet, so we're having to resort to first impressions from the Xbox Store and social media to find out how players are feeling about it so far. The feedback is pretty mixed - some are having a great time living out their taxi fantasies, while others aren't enjoying the bugs and FPS drops.

Let's take a look at what some players are saying about Taxi Life so far:

HEIS3N8ERG on Xbox: "Graphics are good, driving is not too bad but the AI is needing work. Was stopped at a red light with other traffic and an AI car plowed right into my car. Also pedestrians moonwalking over crossings or gliding sideways can be a bit confusing."

DarkKlown718 on Xbox: "Needs more polishing, but I'm having fun. Can't wait to see the game's future."

CarsickEight5 on Xbox: "Fun game, but the constant horn blaring of cars is a huge bother. The frames like to drop a lot, but nothing too serious. Also, lets say you're driving and need to check the map? You exit the map then, what you can't see is you're going into a wall and the passenger patience is lowered."

DrilbtNaylor on Xbox: "I bought this game thinking it would have wheel support. The game looks really good from the ten-plus minutes I've played it - I just hope in the future there's something in place for wheel support."

As you can see, there are some initial concerns about the frame rate drops and general "lack of polishing" in Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator so far, although clearly there's fun to be had with the game as well.

Instead of taking everyone's word for it, you can see how Taxi Life: A City Driving Simulator performs on Xbox Series X in our gameplay footage above, and we'll have some of our own hands-on impressions to share in the near future.
