Helldivers 2 Animations Have Attracted Big Praise From Devs Including Naughty Dog

Helldivers 2 is out now for PC and PS5, and has been attracting quite a bit of praise from developers for is stellar animations, including The Last of Us creator Naughty Dog.

For example KindaFunny’s Greg Miller was clipped playing the game and found himself getting blown backwards by a large bug, resulting in Mitchel Barclay, lead designer at Naughty Dog, to chime in on Twitter with the following:

I need more people to talk about Helldivers 2’s animation. Look at that ragdoll, the lack of clipping, the cloth, the recovery FROM ragdoll. Give them awards.

Meanwhile, People Can Fly’s Jamie Smith commented on Helldivers 2’s animations, stating, “Yeah, they have a really nice transition from dive > rag doll, based on the height in which you leap from.” Steve Holmes of Infinity Ward added, “That is pretty cool.”
