GTA 5 Online has gone from strength to strength over the years with frequent updates, new content and modes and a high player-base.

Additionally, the online mode has a dedicated roleplaying community that keeps their Twitch viewers tuned in. So there’s no surprise that Rockstar has some more plans for the future.

Grand Theft Auto Online San Andreas Mercenaries Expansion

June 13 will see the arrival of Grand Theft Auto Online’s San Andreas Mercenaries. The free expansion will task players with fighting Merryweather Security in a series of missions. According to Rockstar, this will also include “stealing sensitive data from server farms, conducting raids, and dropping explosive payloads on high-value targets across the state.”

The official synopsis reads:

It’s no secret Merryweather Security are as corrupt as everyone else in this town — but now there’s talk on the street that these shady contract killers are scaling up and squeezing out any rogue competition across Southern San Andreas. For freelance professionals in the criminal underground, this could be the last straw — it’s time to hit them where it hurts.

Just the average GTA session then.

The expansion will also feature random events that give players the opportunity to make money and earn brand-new items in the world. These “spontaneous opportunities” can include taking down targets and completing random events.

Grand Theft Auto Online Fixes

Not only will players get this free update, but they can also look forward to some player-requested improvements. These include:

  • When calling Mors Mutual Insurance, you’ll be able to claim all destroyed vehicles at once.
  • An alternate sprint control option (hold to sprint) will be added to the Settings Menu.
  • Custom description tags for garages to help quickly locate your favorite rides.
  • The Willard Eudora and Albany Classique Broadway will become eligible for Taxi Work when using Taxi Liveries.
  • Updates to the Creator to incorporate additional props and weather options, including snow.

So there you have it. You can access San Andreas Mercenaries on June 13 on all platforms.
