After the unexpected announcement from Rockstar Games regarding the next Grand Theft Auto (GTA) title, numerous fans are speculating about every aspect of the game such as its story, gameplay, protagonists, etc.
Although other elements of the game are necessary, it must all be incorporated into a living and breathing virtual world. Many are wondering about the map size and the setting of the upcoming GTA title and expecting it to be larger than the current entry in the series. Let’s go ahead and take a look at the existing leaks and rumors to possibly figure it out.
Grand Theft Auto 6 Leaked Map
Considering that the previous GTA 5 has the biggest map in the series so far spanning just over 80 square kilometres, numerous fans are expecting this upcoming game to beat this record by providing an even bigger and denser map. Apart from being larger, the map is also expected to contain more explorable interiors apart from the usual player houses, garages, restaurants, and so on. We will get to traverse through public areas such as Nightclubs, Theme Parks, Obeservatories, Airfields, Golf Clubs and much more new and returning places.
The map will apparently be a reimagined version of Vice City which was based on Miami and will supposedly featuring many iconic buildings and locations from the area similar to featuring the city of New York and Los Angeles in Grand Theft Auto 4 and 5 respectively. Apart from these real-life buildings, we can also get to see returning locations from Vice City such as:
South Beach
Rockridge based on Little Havana
Grassrivers based on the Everglades
Lake Leonida based on Lake Okeechobee
We might also see the return of the Island along with its original names such as the Vice City Mainland, Starfish Island, etc. There are also other expectations such as an expandable map which will grow in size with every update that the game receives. This hints at the possibility that Vice City might just be the starting point where you get to familiarize yourself with the mechanics and initial plot of the title.
