Anila will be a playable character in Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising, publisher Cygames and developer Arc System Works announced.
The companies also shared new information on the fighting game sequel’s design concept and new “Dash Attack” and “New Triple Attack” mechanics.

Anila (voiced by Leona Renee in English, Aoi Yuuki in Japanese)
An all-rounder who fights using a pole-arm and divine sheep. With a variety of projectiles, anti-airs, and rush-down attacks, the Queen of Sheep has a powerful set of tools that can be utilized by players of all skill levels.
Granblue Fantasy: Versus Rising‘s Design Concept
The core Granblue Fantasy: Versus gameplay experience will remain the same the new characters and mechanics will serve to elevate moment to movement options and strategies to new levels!
We are still as determined as ever to deliver our vision of a fighting game that can be thoroughly enjoyed by both newcomers and veterans!
New Mechanic: Dash Attack
A quick attack that can be performed while dashing-close the gap and keep the pressure on with different variations using light, medium, and heavy attacks. Some characters have dash attacks that can be chained into combos or used to catch blocking foes off guard!
- L – Quickly apply pressure while moving forward.
- M – For Gran is a low-hitting poke that can be used to catch standing foes off guard.
- H – Has the slowest start-up and recovery, but can be chained into a combo for big damage!
New Mechanic: New Triple Attacks
Just like the original Auto Combo system from Granblue Fantasy: Versus, Triple Attacks can be performed by pushing an attack button three times in a row. The third hit, however, can now be changed to an overhead or low attack depending on your input. Use them to open up a defensive foe and keep your pressure going!

Exclusive Merchandise at EVO Japan 2023
To commemorate Granblue Fantasy: Versus‘ appearance as a main title, limited-edition merchandise featuring exclusive art will be available at EVO Japan 2023.
