Dota 2 livestreamer Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski shared his thoughts on TI12’s ticket prices which were recently announced by Valve.

According to Gorgc, while the pricing may appear overly expensive to certain members of the community, Valve will be able to justify them because the tickets will still be sold quickly regardless.

TI12's final three days have been priced at $699 USD, excluding fees, nearly twice what they were last year.

Dota 2 community members are abuzz recently over The International 12 (TI12) ticket prices revealed by Valve. The Dota 2 community has raised concerns that the increase this year, particularly for the final days of the event, is too much. As part of this discussion about ticket prices, popular Dota 2 livestreamer Janne "Gorgc" Stefanovski said, though they may seem too high to some members of the community, Valve will still be able to justify their prices since the tickets will be instantly purchased anyway.

TI12's final three days have been priced at $699 USD, excluding fees, nearly twice what they were last year.

Gorgc says TI12 tickets will be instantly purchased irrespective of high prices

In response to a Reddit thread expressing concern over TI12 ticket prices, Gorgc drew a parallel between Valve's rationale for the prices and a business-driven approach.

“It’s very easy justifying $200 USD a day for tickets, guys. You know how you justify it? People are willing to pay for it. That’s how you justify it. It’s not like it’s bread you know? If bread is expensive, then you know, you riot. If it’s just a f**king ticket to a random event, as long as people are paying for it, they are going to have high prices. Is that actually $200 a day though? God damn.”

To the Reddit user who initiated the thread, Gorgc mentioned that there was going to be no relief, as tickets would be sold out very quickly.

“They are probably going to get insta sold right? This guy is malding but they are going to get instantly sold out anyway, probably. Gaben is swimming in it right now.”

On 19th August, Valve announced the dates and prices for TI12. The tickets will be available for two separate phases of the tournament - Playoffs and The International.

For Playoffs at Seattle Convention Center's Summit Building, tickets will be available on 28th August for $99 + Fees as individual tickets for each day. For The International at the Climate Pledge Arena, tickets will go on sale on 25th August and will be sold as a three-day pass priced at $699 USD + fees.
