4 months ago 116

The upcoming rerun of the annual Lantern Rite festival in Genshin Impact with the version 4.4 update is not just set to bring festive celebrations but also the long-awaited Liyue Expansion, now known as Chenyu Vale. Much like Mondstadt’s Dragonspine and the first Liyue expansion of the Chasm, Chenyu Vale will be the latest region expansion and is expected to feature new Statues of the Seven, teleport waypoints, and an offering shrine. Let's take a look at this leak and speculate on the details of everything we know about Chenyu Vale in Genshin Impact.

Chenyu Vale's Role in Genshin Impact

The northern region of Liyue has Chenyu Vale, which is supposed to link Fontaine's port and expand the already expansive world of Genshin Impact. Leaks indicate that the Yilong Port is the entry point from Liyue to this bridge. Similar to Qingce Village in the Bishui Plane, Qiaoying Village, which borders Fontaine and Liyue, is anticipated to be crucial to the exploration of Chenyu Vale.

Chenyu Vale Release Date According to Leaks

According to the leak, Chenyu Vale will either be released at the Lantern Rite Festival or concurrently with the 4.4 update. Although release dates from leaks are approximate, it's important to remember that these are based on past update trends and could be subject to change with official announcements. If these leaks are accurate, gamers may expect the expansion to launch on January 31, 2024.

Chenyu Vale In-Game Features

Chenyu Vale is rumored to introduce additional Statues of the Seven, new teleport waypoints, and an offering shrine. The region, centered around Mt. Yaojun, is described as having "many mountains [and] rivers," creating a climate that is "relatively humid" compared to neighboring areas.

The Lore Behind Chenyu Vale

The future expansion gains depth from the lore surrounding Chenyu Vale. Centered around Mt. Yaojun, a sacred mountain once under the dominion of an Adeptus known as the "Herblord," legends speak of tea trees, jade ornaments, and mysterious rituals. The climate in Chenyu Vale is described as relatively humid, attributed to the presence of flowing rivers and mountains in the area.

One legend recounts the friendship between the Herblord and another Adeptus, resulting in a unique tea tree tied with a jade ornament. Over the years, this tree's branches were grafted to the "other side of the river," producing tea leaves renowned in Liyue Harbor. Another legend involving a jade slab capable of summoning "sweet rains" adds an air of mystique to Chenyu Vale, earning it the name "Jade-Sinking."
