Flesh & Blood 5th anniversary hero card and celebration revealed

1 week ago 35

The creators behind the Flesh & Blood TCG, Legend Story Studios, has revealed what it’s doing to celebrate the game’s 5th anniversary. In addition to an event taking place in stores worldwide, there will also be a tournament and a rare hero card to grab to celebrate the game’s birthday.

The best part of Flesh & Blood‘s 5th anniversary for all players is that Crimson Haze, known to many fans as a vengeful ninja who helped get them into the game, is returning as the Ira, Scarlet Revenger. This is a new version of Ira, a hero card that anyone can get by heading down to their local game store and participating in a 5th anniversary celebration event. The card will be tournament legal, so it’s worth picking up even if you don’t know where it’s going to fit in your decks because you don’t need to worry about any bans and restrictions for it.

Ira is only the beginning

The 5th anniversary celebration events will take place between November 1-3, 2024, but on November 3, 2024, specifically, the World Championships: Osaka will take place. Participants at the World Championships will get an exclusive Japanese language anime art version of Ira, Scarlet Revenger, a real token to remember the event with.

I love this because it’s an event-exclusive item that will retain a decent amount of value. Disney Lorcana doesn’t make its debut in Japan until 2025, so it feels like Flesh & Blood is keeping ahead of the competition and one step ahead in a way.

Anyone traveling to Osaka to watch the event can also pick up an exclusive souvenir package that contains a 5th Anniversary Pack featuring Ira, Scarlet Revenger, a set of limited edition Japanese language anime art heroes for Dorinthea Ironsong, Nuu, Alluring Desire, Viserai, Rune Blood, an exclusive playmat, sleeves, and deckbox. This sounds a lot like the MTG Festival in a Box product, but in this instance, it’s exclusive to attendees of the event.

There will also be Japanese language anime versions of Dorinthea, Nuu, and Viserai at the event, but details on these cards are light at the time of writing. More 5th anniversary celebrations will take place over the course of October, so it’s worth keeping an eye out for announcements.

Anyone who doesn’t want to miss out on these Japanese-language cards might need to book a trip to Osaka because I don’t know if they’ll ever be made available again. As for the local game store tournaments, each store will likely announce them individually, but keep checking the official Flesh & Blood website for details just in case.

Osaka is a long way to go to celebrate a TCG, especially when even companies like Wizards of the Coast offer a fan pack for physical events that anyone can purchase if they can’t attend. It’ll be interesting to see what else Legend Story Studios has in store for fans as we get closer to the World Championships and the 5th anniversary celebrations.
