Final Fantasy XIV Online: Xbox Release Times Confirmed Ahead Of Full Launch

1 month ago 39

This week marks the full launch of Final Fantasy XIV Online for Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, which means it'll be coming out of "beta" and releasing across six separate versions on the Microsoft Store this Thursday.

Specifically, Final Fantasy XIV Online will have a release time of 1am PT / 4am ET / 8am GMT on March 21st. At this point, everyone will be able to download the free trial, and there will be five paid versions for sale on the Xbox Store.

The only difference between those five versions is how many expansions you get included in the package, while the massive "Free Trial" contains all the content that was in the beta up to this point. Here's the full breakdown:

  • FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Starter Edition (Free with Xbox Game Pass Perks)
For newcomers, the Starter Edition includes three award-winning titles: the base game, A Realm Reborn, and the first and second expansions, Heavensward and Stormblood.
  • FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker
Players can experience the main scenario quests and content available in the Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions. Requires FINAL FANTASY XIV Starter Edition to play.
  • FINAL FANTASY XIV: Endwalker Collector's Edition
The Endwalker Collector's Edition includes several in-game bonus items. Requires FINAL FANTASY XIV Starter Edition to play.
  • FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Complete Edition
For newcomers, this is the most comprehensive edition and includes A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker expansions.
  • FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Complete Collector's Edition
This version includes the in-game bonus items from the A Realm Reborn, Heavensward, Stormblood, Shadowbringers, and Endwalker Collector's Editions.
  • FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Free Trial
Play for free up to level 70 and experience the main scenario quests and content from A Realm Reborn, and the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions with no restrictions on play time. Certain in-game restrictions apply.

As mentioned, the Final Fantasy XIV Online Starter Edition will be free to claim (and keep!) with Xbox Game Pass Perks for a limited time, so if you're a Game Pass Ultimate member, you can take advantage of this pretty awesome offer.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the paid versions will apparently require a Game Pass membership of some kind (either Core or Ultimate) in order to play, but the Free Trial does not feature this requirement.

If you need more information, you can find it on the official Final Fantasy website, and the good news is that you can bring your beta progress over to the full launch - so there's reason to keep playing it until later this week!
