Shapeshifters in FIFA 23 transform footballers into brand-new superstars with different skills, abilities, and playing styles altogether. Even their positions are switched, allowing you to explore fresh, novel squad-building possibilities. The first week of the Shapeshifters event is already underway in FIFA 23 Ultimate Team and the event is all set to be available for the next few weeks in the game.
Being one of the biggest promos in the FUT calendar, Electronic Arts (EA) will be releasing many different Shapeshifters squads along with a host of FUT Hero items. Team 1 of Shapeshifters is already live. Here’s all we know about this event.
FIFA 23 Shapeshifters Team 1 Details
EA stated that the Shapeshifters campaign will also see Shapeshifters-themed content available across Objectives, Squad Building Challenges, and more available in FUT 23. Team 1 of this event was released on 16th June, kicking off this fan-favorite campaign.
EA has introduced Shapeshifters Icons and Twin Icons for the event. It wrote, “Shapeshifters reaches back through history to reimagine the playing styles of iconic footballers across The World’s Game.” Some of these Icons will also have Twin Upgrades—two versions of the legendary player, each with a different adaptation to their game that transforms how they were known for playing.
Shapeshifters Team 2: Release Date, Leaks and More
Notably, new teams will always be released on Fridays at 10 am PT/ 1 pm EST/ 6 pm BST. Since Team 1 was released on 16th June, Team 2 is expected to release on 23rd June. Likewise, Team 3 will be rolled out on 30th June.
Several leaks have suggested that FIFA 23 players can expect a handful of goalkeepers like Pepe Reina and Alisson Becker to be introduced as field players in Team 2.
Likewise, Olympique Marseille star Matteo Guendouzi is rumored to be introduced in Team 2 as SBC or objective card.
FIFA 23 players should note that Shapeshifters Player Items with Twin Upgrades will have the ♊︎ Symbol above their OVR and those with the Premium Chemistry will have the Crown symbol at the top of their item. In Team 1, Van Persie and Fernando Hierro are the recipients of Twin Upgrades.
Notably, the Shapeshifters promo was first introduced in FIFA 20 and became a huge hit for featuring crazy position swaps and stat boosts for football stars.
