These Are The 10 Highest-Rated Xbox Exclusives Of This Generation So Far

There's obviously been a lot of talk about Xbox exclusives jumping over to PS5 and Nintendo Switch recently, but even if you take some of those away, there's still a fantastic selection of console exclusives on Microsoft's platform right now.

Out of curiosity, we went back and looked at all the Xbox console exclusives that have been released since the Series X and Series S made their debuts in November of 2020, and the list remains an impressive one. Obviously we've removed the likes of Hi-Fi RUSH and Pentiment that would have scored highly, as they're no longer exclusives.

So, here are the top-rated Xbox exclusives (since November 2020) according to Metacritic's average ratings:

  1. Forza Horizon 5 (92)
  2. Microsoft Flight Simulator (90)
  3. Halo Infinite (87)
  4. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (86)
  5. Forza Motorsport (84)
  6. Starfield (83)
  7. Age of Empires IV: Anniversary Edition (83)
  8. Grounded (82) (exclusive until April 16, 2024)
  9. Gears Tactics (82)
  10. Go Mecha Ball (81)

And here are the top-rated Xbox first-party games (exclusive or not) during that timeframe:

  1. Forza Horizon 5 (92)
  2. Microsoft Flight Simulator (90)
  3. Deathloop (89)
  4. Halo Infinite (87)
  5. Hi-Fi RUSH (87)
  6. Psychonauts 2 (87)
  7. Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition (86)
  8. Pentiment (86)
  9. Forza Motorsport (84)
  10. Starfield (83)

Unsurprisingly, a whole bunch of Xbox first-party games dominate the exclusives list, with the ever-popular Forza Horizon 5 coming out on top. It's also nice to see the recent indie Xbox Game Pass title Go Mecha Ball propping up the list, and if you look further down, there's also the likes of Planet of Lana, Party Animals and Warhammer 40K: Darktide.

We recently added a few Xbox Game Preview titles that aren't eligible for this list to our best Xbox exclusives guide as well, such as January's mega-hit Palworld and the survival game Valheim, so there's more where these come from!

In a nutshell, there are still plenty of great exclusives from the Xbox Series X and S generation that you can enjoy today, along with many others from the Xbox One era that are still going strong (Sea Of Thieves comes to mind). And of course, he best part is that the entire top 10 list can be played on Xbox Game Pass across console and PC!
