Fastest way to get the Mountain Zu mount in FFXIV

There are a ton of cool Mountain Dew x Final Fantasy XIV rewards to be obtained now that Dawntrail is here, but the coolest is without a doubt the special Mountain Zu mount. There’s a few ways to go about getting the reward, but here is the fastest way to get the Mountain Zu mount in FFXIV and also the cheapest.

Getting the Mountain Zu mount in FFXIV

If you want to get your hands on the Final Fantasy XIV Mountain Zu mount as fast as possible, your best bet it to purchase three of the specialty Mountain Dew flavors. You need 600 points total to get the Mountain Zu mount, which is three bottles of any speciality flavors. All of these special flavors have a yellow cap. Make sure the label on the Mountain Dew says ‘Unlock Gaming Rewards’ as bottles of the Dew that came out before the event will not have the code required to get the points.

While normal Mountain Dew flavors give you 100 points, the specialty flavors give you 200 points each. Here are the four specialty flavors that give you 200 points each:

Frost Bite
Maui Burst
Overdrive
Purple Burst

I personally recommend heading to your local Walmart or ordering online to get the Frost Bite flavor, as it’s actually cheaper than the normal flavors at gas stations and under retail locations. At the time of this post, each bottle of Frost Bite Mountain Dew is $2.28.

If you want even more of the exclusive Final Fantasy XIV x Mountain Dew rewards, you can of course buy more of these specialty flavors to get 200 points each. However, if you are just getting one of the standard flavors like regular Mountain Dew, Code Red, or Baja Blast, you will only get 100 points each meaning you will need 6 bottles total for the Mountain Zu mount.
