Every movie and show coming to Netflix in April

1 month ago 36

Even with Netflix’s recommendation algorithm serving you new movies, new TV shows, and original programming tailored to your viewing habits, the streaming service’s firehose of content makes what’s coming difficult to parse.

This month brings the big Rebel Moon sequel, along with a handful of comedy specials. There’s also a new season of Heartbreak High; supernatural mystery series Dead Boy Detectives; and a lot of true crime. From the back catalog, we have the OG Matrix Trilogy, You’ve Got Mail, and Black Sails.

Editor’s Pick: Hades

Zagreus slays the Bone Hydra in Hades Image: Supergiant Games

Listen. We know this space is usually reserved for something to watch, but when Polygon’s number one game of 2020 makes the New on Netflix list, we gotta give credit where credit is due. Netflix’s game library is ever expanding. The streaming service doesn’t just do interactive specials anymore; it also boosts some indie game darlings like Oxenfree and Reigns.

Hades, though, is probably one of the most complex games to hit Netflix. The roguelike dungeon crawler follows Zagreus, son of Hades, in his attempts to escape the Underworld. Playing as Zagreus, you try (and fail) repeatedly to escape, encountering new locations and enemies, unlocking cool new weapons and building them up, and meeting some iconic figures from Greek mythology. Also, you can smooch a few people!
