Loric Games was founded back in 2022 by Brian Johnson, Ray Soto, and Rob Denton, developers who, before Loric came from Mythic Entertainment, and who between them have worked on games like Ultima Online, Star Wars: The Old Republic and Dark Age Of Camelot.
On Tuesday, Loric Games revealed what the studio’s debut title would be, Echoes Of Elysium, an “open-world airship survival RPG” where players will spend their time in the skies of a mythical ancient Greece setting.
Currently, the team is focused on getting the PC version of Echoes Of Elysium across the finish line – but PSU can confirm that console versions are planned. The question remains though if those plans will come to fruition. Here’s hoping they do. For now, you can wishlist the game on Steam.
You’ll choose a hero at the start and embark on a journey to amass a strong fleet of airships that you’ll get to design, build and upgrade to suit your needs.
With the ‘building’ and ‘upgrading’ also comes plenty of survival mechanics, like crafting, resource gathering, and of course choosing to spend your resources wisely in order to survive.
Though Echoes Of Elysium can likely be enjoyed alone, it is also a co-op game, as a press release for Echoes’ confirms “everything you experience in the game has been designed to be better with friends.”
While we don’t have any gameplay to view yet, Loric Games did release a short teaser trailer that showcases a bit of the skies of Elysium we’ll get to explore, which you can see below.
For now, Echoes Of Elysium is without a release date or release window even, so it feels like it’ll be some time before we can get our own hands-on with Loric Games’ debut title.
What we do see today though looks promising, and worth keeping an eye on, especially with the knowledge that there are plans for a console version on the horizon.
