Gameloft has announced that it’s developing a Dungeons & Dragons game for PC and consoles.

Set within the Forgotten Realms, the title is in the works at its Montreal studio, which is the creator of Disney Dreamlight Valley and Lego Star Wars Castaways.

According to today’s announcement, it “will bring unique cooperative gameplay built around an innovative hybrid of survival, life simulation and action RPG”.

Gameloft said “players can expect an adventure where the rich lore of this legendary franchise meets real-time survival in a unique campaign of resilience, camaraderie, and danger at nearly every turn.”

The studio is currently recruiting developers to work on the game, which doesn’t have a confirmed launch window yet.

“Making friends, both on and off the table, has always been a core Dungeons & Dragons value and it is our goal, as life-long fans, to bring this experience to a different genre renowned for emergent gameplay and shared narrative that can be enjoyed by both newcomers and tabletop masters alike” said Gameloft Montreal creative director Marc-Andre Deslongchamps.

Payday maker Starbreeze recently announced that it’s developing a Dungeons and Dragons live service game codenamed Project Baxter.

Produced with Unreal Engine 5 and featuring cross-play support, it’s set to be released in 2026 for “all major platforms”.
