Digital Foundry Impressed By 'Stunning Visual Design' In Ori Dev's New Game

Are we surprised?

Since wrapping up development on Ori and the Will of the Wisps back in 2020, Moon Studios has been hard at work on its action RPG No Rest for the Wicked, and tech outlet Digital Foundry has decided to take a look at the newly-released Early Access version of the title this week.

Unsurprisingly, Moon Studios has delivered in the visuals department once again. This indie studio burst onto the scene with its gorgeous visual design in Ori, and that trend seems to be continuing with its next game.

Here's a snippet of the DF hands-on:

"Simply put, No Rest for the Wicked couples a stunning visual design with elements inspired by From Software's Souls titles, Blizzard's Diablo and even Animal Crossing - and yet the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.

The game in its current state feels sublime and is extremely promising, but do bear in mind that it is in early access so don't expect a full, completely polished game - but it will certainly be fun to see the reaction from users and how that feedback is integrated into the game."

Talking of fan feedback, the team has confirmed that an Xbox Series X|S version is coming - after the PC edition has evolved into its full release. There's no timeline on the game's console launch yet, but the fact that it's coming at some stage puts us at rest, for now.

Anyway, we'd recommend giving the video at the top of this article a watch - if just to see how the Ori team is evolving its tech with No Rest for the Wicked! Once we hear more about the developer's Xbox plans, we'll be sure to let you know.
