Diablo 4 Season 1 Release Date, Battlepass, All We Know

The Diablo dev livestream will take place on the game's official YouTube and Twitch channels on 6 July 2023. Blizzard says in a press statement that the livestream will include information on Diablo Immortal, including the launch of a new class and some other quality of life updates.

Diablo 4 is now available to all players worldwide, allowing them to explore Sanctuary, assemble their finest potential character build, and defeat the demon Lilith. As of now, the only content available to fans is the launch game itself. Of course, completing Diablo 4's story as well as all of the endgame/PvP activities is nothing to scoff at. Still, some fans may be looking forward to the game's first season, which will include a slew of new content.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Release Date

Diablo 4 Season 1 is anticipated to begin in mid-July, more than a month after the game's release. This will have given players enough time to complete the story which is a requirement in order to dive into the new content.  Although no exact date has been announced, the game's general manager, Rod Fergusson, has stated that we will hear one next week.

As for what Season 1 will provide in terms of content. Players will be able to access new questlines with new and returning characters, class and gameplay item balance tweaks, new legendary items, and more gameplay features, among other things. However, before they can enjoy all Season 1 has to offer, gamers must complete the Diablo 4 campaign with at least one character on their account. Blizzard recommends that gamers do this now so that they can jump directly into Season 1 when it comes out.

Diablo 4 Season 1 Battlepass

Season 1 will also include the game's first battle pass in addition to all of that content. Blizzard has stated that the battle pass is optional, adding that players will have access to multiple free tiers of content (27 tiers). Players that acquire the battle pass will be able to access the 27 free tiers as well as the 63 premium tiers.

Each season (released quarterly) will also come alongside a new battle pass. There will be three to choose from:

• Free tier – The first and standard tier will be free to all players. It will offer limited items but players can still work their way through 27 tiers.

• Premium tier – The first paid tier will cost around $10 and will have 63 tiers to work through. 

• Accelerated tier – The most expensive option, around $25, will feature all the exclusive content available. Additionally, you will unlock twenty tier skips and a unique cosmetic item.

New Character in Diablo 4 Season 1

Last but not least, Blizzard has revealed that with the start of season one, you will need to create a new character. Although this has not been warmly received, the bright side is that if you have completed the tale on at least one character, you can skip the campaign and jump right into the new content. You will also retain access to any Waypoints, Renown, Altars of Lilith, and map discoveries achieved in prior playthroughs.
