Season 21 of Destiny 2 is almost upon us and with just hours to go, Bungie has announced the latest trailer for Season of the Deep. Let’s take a look at what else we’ve learned.

Season of the Deep is set to be another thrilling saga for the Destiny 2 story. Continuing on straight from the previous story, it looks to fill in all the gaps left during the Lightfall expansion. The trailer reveals the reappearance of a new character, an old destination and a whole lot of new and exciting weapons and armour.

Destiny 2 Season of the Deep – What’s new?

The new trailer kicks off with Sloane – a character we haven’t seen for a while – sending out an emergency signal from Titan. When our guardians get to her, we discover the distress call was actually for another being known to the Witness. With Titan not being a playable planet for a long while, it will be exciting to touch back down.

The next scene shows why the season was named as it was as our guardians dive into the depths of an underwater land. It is here we will gain access to new Taken weapons and armour and even face the possibility that Sloane herself is Taken.

New Features

Not only will Season 21 feature a new dungeon but it will also include an exciting new activity – fishing! Fishing will now be available for our guardians on the EZD, Nessus and Savathûn’s Throne World.

Update: Fishing will only be available for Season Pass owners

To go alongside the underwater theme, there is also a bunch of new armour and cosmetics for our Warlocks, Titans and Hunters. As you can see, these are very much scuba-themed including scuba helmets and water tanks.

There will also be Exotic armour up for grabs for the three classes. The Warlock helm looks to almost be shark-inspired whilst the Hunters have a standard gauntlet that again is reminiscent of underwater gear.

The highlight for me is the Titan chest piece that has blue flowers, fin-like adornments and a golden emblem.

There will also be a new seasonal activity known as Salvage which looks to take place in the new underwater region. There is no doubt we will have to race through the murky depths to complete the objective for the weekly challenges.

Destiny 2 x PlayStation Crossover

Announced earlier this week was the Destiny 2 x PlayStation crossover which would see new cosmetics arrive to the game. These will include armour inspired by Ghost of Tsushima, God of War, The Last of Us and Horizon Zero Dawn.

With not long left until Season of the Deep goes live, it’s an exciting time for the Destiny community.
