Croc: Legend Of The Gobbos Remastered has been delayed into Q1 2025, developer Argonaut Games announced on Friday.
The game was first revealed as incoming this past August, with a release date not pinned down save for a release window that was essentially ‘sometime before the end of 2024.’
Fast forward to now and 2024’s days are numbered – literally – and there’s not a lot of room left for games to release without getting lost in the holiday shuffle. This late in the year, the delay announcement feels more like an acknowledgement, than a surprise.
Of course the reason for the delay isn’t just to avoid being lost in the craze of the holidays, that’s definitely a bonus but per Argonaut Games statement, the delay comes down to the team needing more time.
“After careful consideration, we have decided to push the launch into Q1 2025. This decision was not made lightly, but we believe that a little more time is needed to add the final touches to ensure the game meets the high standards that we aspire to and which you deserve,” the studio’s statement reads.
“We understand that after 27 years of waiting, this news might be a little disappointing, especially with the festive season coming soon. However, our goal has always been to deliver a game with the quality and polish that will truly delight. We appreciate your patience and support as we work to bring Croc back in the best possible way.”
“Thank you all for your understanding and continued enthusiasm. We can’t wait for you to experience Croc’s magic once again!”
