Ubisoft has confirmed that Far Cry New Dawn will be getting a 60 FPS update for PS5. Originally released in 2019, Far Cry New Dawn isn’t a numbered entry into the series, though it is a beloved and short entry into the series.
The game is set to join Xbox’s Game Pass service in just a few days at time of writing, which is likely when the patch will go live on all platforms, so keep an eye on your update notifications on February 4, 2025, if it isn’t already live by then.
The Ubisoft Support account on X confirmed the update after it seemingly was announced early, since it begins by saying “Well…this wasn’t how we planned to announce this.”
After clarifying that Xbox players will see FPS Boost temporarily disabled, in a follow-up post Ubisoft wrote “PS5 players, you’re getting the 60 FPS update too!”
It might seem out of the blue that a non-numbered Far Cry game is getting a 60 FPS update, but Ubisoft has been adding these patches for a number of its games since the console launched back in 2020. Multiple Assassin’s Creed and Far Cry games have already received a 60 FPS patch for those playing these games on current-gen consoles, so it seems like it was just New Dawn’s turn.
Hopefully we’ll have some clarifying information as to when the update will be live.
