Bloodborne PSX Demake Hit By Copyright Claim, Lance McDonald’s ‘Copium Theory’ Is That Sony Is Working On An Official ’60 FPS Remake’

Bloodborne‘s fan-made PSX demake project has been hit by a copyright claim by MarkScan Entertainment, following last week’s news that Lance McDonald’s Bloodborne 60 FPS patch and been struck down by a Sony DMCA takedown notice.

In response, McDonald revealed that MarkScan were hired by Sony Interactive Entertainment, and are the same rim that “DMCAed my page about the Bloodborne 60fps patch. And now they’ve DMCAed an old video about the Bloodboren PSX demake project. That’s pretty wild. What the hell are they doing?

However, the modder suggested that Sony could in fact be working on an official Bloodborne 60 FPS update or a more ambitious remake, in what he describes as his ‘copium theory.’

My copium theory is that Sony DMCAed the 60fps patch and the video about the Bloodborne demake so that when they announce a 60fps remake, google searching for ‘bloodborne 60fps’ and ‘Bloodborne remake’ won’t have collisions with our fan projects. Let me cope. Like if they plan on trademarking ‘bloodborne 60fps’ and ‘Bloodborne remake’ they need to actually clean up in order to actually file a trademark request. Right??

Shuhei Yoshida, a former Sony Interactive Entertainment executive who headed up the company’s indie efforts, recently discussed the topic of Bloodborne during a chat with Kinda Funny Games. According to him, developer FromSoftware’s Hidetaka Miyazaki would like to do something with Bloodborne again, but is simply too busy and doesn’t want anyone else to handle the IP. As a result of this, Yoshida believes that Sony respects Miyazaki’s wishes and therefore Bloodborne remains untouched.
