Despite the global popularity of the Call of Duty series, recent titles like Warzone and Modern Warfare 3 have been overrun by cheaters on PC, even disrupting ranked matches. To counter this, Activision developed its own anti-cheat software, Richochet, introduced in 2021 for COD Vanguard and Warzone, which initially showed promise in reducing the problem.
However, recent reports reveal that new hacking tools can easily outsmart the anti-cheat system, shocking many fans and leaving them concerned about the future of COD. Here’s everything you need to know.
COD Hacking Tool Can Avoid Detection by Briefly Deactivating them!
Cheating on Call of Duty has been a known problem on PC for years. However, it has become even more evident over the years, thanks to the rise of several COD content creators who shined the light on these rampant hackers. Creator Zachdubs shared a clip from YouTuber NukeJesus’ video where they exposed Discord servers of hackers who happen to be some of the top Call of Duty players in the world.
The clip reveals a chat log from the Discord server where they are discussing the number of screenshots cleared from a game. This happens when your account gets reported, which then triggers the Richochet anti-cheat to take constant pictures of your gameplay to analyze and detect whether you’ve got any exploits installed on your system.
NukeJesus explains “What some of these tools do that these cheat providers have, is it can detect when you’re about to get a screenshot, and it will literally turn off your cheats mid-game, for a millisecond, take the screenshot, then your cheats are turned back on”. This apparently happens multiple times and the YouTuber mentions that they’ve heard of over 100 screenshots being taken from a single match.
This has shocked several big-name creators and fans belonging to the COD community, as it is evident that the cheaters and their hacking tools are far ahead of the anti-cheat system deployed by Activision. Former COD pro and founder of 100 Thieves Matthew “Nadeshot” Haag had this to say:
“Barring some divine intervention from Activision or man up top himself, Call of Duty is going to be infested with cheaters for the foreseeable future. Good luck boys and stay safe, god speed.”
