In a recent development that has turned the heads of all those in the Dota 2 community, Xtreme Gaming announced the signing of Chinese sensation Wang "Ame" Chunyu. With this, Ame is officially off the inactive roster of LGD Gaming after a year. The news was unveiled via a Weibo post by Xtreme Gaming which expressed its enthusiasm for the legendary player's return.
The post said, "After friendly negotiations, Wang Chunyu (Ame) will be transferred to Xtreme Gaming eSports Club from LGD eSports Club. We fully respect Ame's decision and are excited to welcome him to our ranks."
Ame’s Dota 2 Comeback With Xtreme Gaming
Xtreme Gaming showered praises on Ame, stating, "Since his entry into the Dota 2 scene in 2015, Ame has clinched numerous championships, including the MDL International Elite Invitational, 2018 AURORA Cup, MDL Changsha Major, and Kiev Major”.
It also recalled his TI [The International] achievements where he placed second at TI8 and TI10. Xtreme Gaming noted that Ame’s dedication to Dota 2 goes beyond the game and pointed out how he even won a gold medal for the Dota 2 medal event at the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.
The announcement shed light on Ame's impact on and off the battlefield. Xtreme Gaming also expressed its belief in Ame and hoped that he would be revitalized during his time with the team.
It noted, "Welcome @wangchunyu to the Dota 2 battlefield after a rough time, and we look forward to your joining the team to revitalize your energy, Jiayou a chunyu! [Come on, Wang "Ame" Chunyu]"
However, it may be a while till we see Ame back in action at tournaments and events as the Xtreme Gaming roster includes only Wang "Ame" Chunyu and Ding "Dy" Cong. The team currently lacks a midlaner, offlaner, and position four support.
Ame's return comes after exactly a year-long hiatus following The International 2022. During this break, he achieved personal milestones, winning a gold medal for the Chinese Dota 2 team at the 19th Asian Games and getting engaged to his girlfriend.
His comeback has been heavily discussed in the community for a while now. Notably, there were earlier rumors of Ame’s return to the pro Dota 2 scene after the 19th Asian Games had concluded. A screenshot of a conversation between an unidentified person and LGD owner Pan "Ruru" Jie was widely circulated and Ruru hinted that Ame could return.
The community is buzzing with excitement, eagerly waiting to see Ame ascend the grand stage once again.
