There are many reasons why hiding your helmet could benefit you in Dragon’s Dogma 2, from seeing your character’s face to masking that your newest headpiece doesn’t quite suit you. Let’s talk about whether you can hide your helmet in Dragon’s Dogma 2.

Can you hide your helmet in Dragon’s Dogma 2?

No, you can’t hide your helmet in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Once you equip a headpiece to your character or Pawn, its appearance will stay until you find and wear a new helmet. Similarly, you can’t hide or change the appearance of equipment pieces like body and leg armor unless you equip different ones.

With this in mind, there are two options you can explore: using third-party mods at your own risk or not using a helmet at all. While modding has risks, such as downloading questionable files or corrupting your save, it’s often a safe option that many players use to introduce quality-of-life fixes or new custom features.

While this would significantly reduce your defensive stats and combat resistances, it’s safe to do in towns with little combat and frequent cutscenes. To get rid of your helmet, head into your inventory, select your helmet, and pick “Remove”. You’ll un-equip your headpiece, allowing you to see your character or Pawn’s face and hair.

Alternatively, if you want high defensive stats and prefer keeping your helmet on, you can purchase more from armor merchants in major cities. Although this means you have to spend money to get better-looking equipment, it’s worth it to transform a peculiar-looking hat into one worthy of charging into battle.
