Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III sales in the UK saw a significant drop over last year’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II, with the game moving 38% fewer copies during its first three weeks of availability.

Despite the drop in sales, Modern Warfare III still managed to top November software charts, fending off competition from EA Sports FC 24 in the process. In the grander scheme of things, November saw more than 4.55 million games sold in the UK, which represented a year-on-year dip of 3%.

Despite all the negativity surrounding the game however, Sledgehammer Games’ first-person shooter has set player engagement records for the rebooted Modern Warfare trilogy.
