BGMS Season 2 Day 1 Recap: Overall Standings and Match Summary

As expected, Day 1 of Battlegrounds Mobile India Masters Series (BGMS) Season 2 was a massive success. Experienced teams like Team Godlike, OR Esports, Revenant Esports and Team Soul dominated on the first day. 

Launch Week Day 1 saw Team Godlike, placed at the top of the table with 1 chicken dinner, 20 finish points and 39 total points. OR Esports placed 2nd with 24 placement points and 38 total points. Revenant Esports was 3rd with 16 finishes and 33 total points. Velocity Gaming placed 4th with 14 finish points and 29 total points. Despite playing only one match Team Soul grabbed the 5th spot with 1 chicken dinner, 13 finishes and 28 total points.

Teams like Global Esports, Marcos Gaming, Entity Gaming, True rippers and Spy Esports failed to impress on Day 1.

Godlike Rudra “Spower” dominated the Most Valuable Player (MVP) charts with 10 finishes.

BGMS Season 2 Day 1 Match Summary

There were no surprises on Day 1 as the experienced teams dominated. Teams like Orangutan Esports, Blind Esports and Gladiator Esports are yet to show their prowess. Day 1 was a round robin format with the three groups playing each other.

Match 1: Group A vs Group B, Map - Erangel

Revenant Esports was able to clinch the first chicken dinner of the day. RNT Nishant “Apollo” took a 1v1 with OR Esports' Manraj “Max” Kohli in the final zones and was able to win it for his team. OR Esports and Team X Spark were able to achieve 22 points each for themselves whereas Blind Esports and Enigma Gaming were able to obtain 8 points each.

Match 2: Group A vs Group B, Map - Sanhok

Team Godlike dominated the map of Sanhok and was able to take the chicken dinner with a massive 27 points. Godlike Spower also showcased his skills and was crowned the match MVP with 6 finishes to his name. Enigma Gaming and OR Esports bagged 16 points each. Orangutan Esports and Blind Esports were able to obtain 10 points each. After an excellent first match Team X Spark struggled and was only able to obtain 1 point as the team was eliminated early.

Match 3: Group A vs Group C, Map - Miramar

Team Soul despite playing only a single match in the day, was able to achieve 28 points with 1 chicken dinner. Team Velocity was also able to dominate Miramar as the team bagged 22 points from the match. Team 8bit obtained 14 points and Team Gods Reign and Team Godlike accrued 9 points each.

Day 1 was not up to the mark for teams like Gladiator Esports, Global Esports and Spy Esports in all the three matches that they played. Entity Gaming played two matches and were not able to impress the fans as well. 

Teams like Numen Epsorts, Medal Esports and Team Insane played only one match on Day 1 and are placed at the bottom of the table so Day 2 will be quite interesting as these teams will get a chance to showcase their skills and climb the ladder. Blind Esports and Gladiator Esports who recently dominated the third party events will have to prove their prowess.
