Best Teams in Super Mega Baseball 4

3 months ago 102

Super Mega Baseball 4 launched on June 2, 2023, to mark the end of the franchise’s hiatus after the release of Super Mega Baseball 3 in 2020. The highly acclaimed baseball video game series from Metalhead Software returns with new levels of gameplay thrill, featuring new but still wacky real-life legendary baseball players. With its pretty fluid controls, you enjoy the highly customizable gameplay in various game modes that unleash phenomenal and authentic ballparks. For those following up from the previous installation, you will still catch all the game modes, from the pennant race to exhibition, elimination, franchise, and season.

It feels great to control teams with over 240 baseball legends like David Ortiz, Mike Mussina, Willie Mays, and Billy Wagner. They are the most impressive feature distinguishing Super Mega Baseball 4 from its prequels. The legends are organized into two conferences based on their era, with teams including new squads like Originators and Mammotanks. You can look up the teams in the old school conferences for the veteran baseball players or the fresh talents in the new school conferences. With the option to customize your team, you only have to pick your squad and dive right into the action. Here are the best teams in Super Mega Baseball 4 that will see you win the leagues.

5. Hot Corners

Hot Corners Team

It seems rather a turn-off that the Hot Corners squad doesn’t make a strong defense as you would desire and is a bit low at speed. The team’s name sounds much like the build that would have the power to steal the base and the speed to run, but that’s not what Hot Corners brings to the park. However, that doesn’t put it off. It’s still a great team and one of the best you can pick for your Super Mega Baseball 4 gameplay.

The team is impressive at getting contact on the ball, and they are power hitters. They rank in the beast division with a higher-than-average hitting power and are contact specialists, and this compensates for their relatively low speed and defense. For many gamers, getting contact means more than speed, so when the team is also doing well on hitting, it falls into place for their playstyle.

4. Blowfish

Team Blowfish

Like with Hot Corners, the Blowfish team is known for their incredible contact-specific gameplay. They are extreme contact specialists and play in the boss division, right from the original 12 teams of the game. Only a few players have been added to the team up until this latest installation of the video game title. With Super Mega Baseball 4, the blowfish features new character appearances and customization improvements.

Most players rank high in their contact abilities, and their speed is also not on the lower end. Elvis Stanley, Jose Carloco, and Nirub Owaanga are the only players with impressive overall ratings, but that doesn’t mean you will have an unbalanced team. Other players like Rod Forth are still high on contact and speed despite getting a lower overall rating. Overall, Blowfish provides a solid squad for a playstyle that values speed.

3. The Originators

The Originators

The originator is one of the newly added teams on Super Mega Baseball and is where you will get the old-school legends. From the legendary center fielders Willie Mays and Reggie Smith to the starting pitching stable of Bob Feller and third basement Eddie Mathews, you have a recognizable squad with great overall ratings.

It’s not entirely a young squad, so you miss out on speed, but you still control Johnny Bench, the 24-year-old catcher whose ratings remain at the top. Willie Mays and Bob Feller are the youngest originators on the team, aged 20 and 18, respectively. Overall, the squad delivers extreme contact specialists for players with a gameplay style favored by strong contact. The only downside that brings this team a bit lower on the list is the fact that Metalheads left out a considerable list of legends that would perfectly complement the squad.

2. The Moonstars

Moonstars is the team you need to win all your pennant races on Super Mega Baseball 4. It can be challenging to put up a decent offense with the stars, but once their magic spell gets up the board, you will have all the fun.

Playing in the boss division, Moonstars have their strengths as rotation aces, providing the best rotation in the game. It’s the best team for dominating the league if your gameplay is focused on pitch execution. The pen is good, but a third pitch would be preferable over the team’s two.

You will have a stable defense with this team, which has four defensive positions and a great hit squad, but their speed is quite a kill. Executing a good hit when playing against a strong team will be challenging. But players have a perfect opportunity for a great hit in stadiums with short RF, like Swagger Center.

1. Wideloads

Metalhead adopted a pretty symbolic mascot that will have you only think of the team’s strength. It comes as no surprise that Wideloads is at the top of the list of the best teams in Super Mega Baseball 4. The mascot on the team’s logo is a hippopotamus, a powerful and dangerous mammal that can only be avoided by most for safety purposes. To some extent, Wideloads manages to match their gameplay with the symbolic animal.

The baseball game squad is as violent as you would expect, and when it comes to delivering the hits, they set themselves apart as the game’s power hitters. Of course, you would expect that from players like Hack Liner, the third baseman whose size matches the contact and hits he puts across for the pitcher. Their immense power means they will likely hit a home run every time they bat.
