Arena mode or the 2v2v2v2 Team Deathmatch (TDM) mode was introduced to League of Legends by Riot Games on 20th July. Since its release, it has become a major hit among the player base. However, with over 160 champions available in League of Legends, it becomes a bit tedious to understand which champions work well in this game mode and which are not-so-clever choices. When it comes to competitive games, it is better to know what yields the best results if you are on the grind toward the top. Here are the top S-tier champions doing exceptionally well in Arena mode.

This guide will also run you through the other champions that fall under tiers A and B so that you have a complete knowledge of how the meta looks like

Top S-Tier Champions for Arena Mode

S-tier champions are those that are fail-proof and work like clockwork every time you pick them in this game mode. However, know that since these are "OP" (overpowered) picks, they could get banned before you enter the battlefield.

Please note that all the average placement stats used in this article have been sourced from blitz.gg.

Here are the S-tier champions in Arena mode and their respective average placement in the mode at the time of writing:

  • Taric: 2.15

  • Warwick: 2.20

  • Fiora: 2.20

  • Cassiopeia: 2.20

  • Heimerdinger: 2.21

  • Kennen: 2.22

  • Yorick: 2.23

  • Annie: 2.25

  • Jax: 2.26

Other champions who also fall under this category are Vayne, Warwick, Corki, Kindred, Illaoi, Swain, Shyvana, Viktor, Singed, Brand, Vi, Nasus, Zyra, Kayle, Volibear, Kai'Sa, Amumu, Kog'Maw and Twitch.

Interestingly, Riot Games dished out nerfs to many of these top performers in Arena mode. The nerfs in LoL 13.14 micropatch were directed at Taric, Heimerdinger, Annie, and Illaoi. Despite these nerfs, Taric and Annie along with Heimerdinger continue to overperform all other picks in the 2v2v2v2 mode.
