And if absolutely necessary, he will bring out his staff to attack and defend himself from incoming fire. Donald’s weapons come embellished with physical and elemental damage. While the former can inflict some level of damage, the latter is more significant.
Thus, you want to bolster Donald’s MP as much as you can. Additionally, not all weapons will be embellished with a special ability. Meanwhile, you unlock the most potent weapons toward the later stages of the game. Unfortunately, Donald’s limitations make him less reliable in combat. However, you can still find ways to bolster his attack, defense, and support stats using the best build for Donald in Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Final Mix below.
10. Grand Ribbon (Armor)
You can consider equipping Grand Ribbon. It’ll protect Donald from all types of attacks. Specifically, it’ll take away four damage points, boosting your health. But also, you’ll withstand every fire, blizzard, thunder, and dark-based magic attack by 25% each. As a result, you’ll bolster Donald’s defense against incoming fire but also make him resistant to all types of attacks.

Magic Haste can significantly bolster Donald’s wielding of magic. It allows you to inflict elemental damage faster. As a result, you’ll be able to unleash rapid magic combos that barely give enemies room to breathe. And if you face waves of enemies, you can equip Magic Haste in several slots to decimate them quickly.
8. Nobody Lance (Weapon)
Among the weapons Donald can wield is Nobody Lance. It gives you five strength and five magic attack points. However, its best perk is access to Defender and Item Boost abilities. The former helps boost your defense, while the latter allows you to pick up more valuable items. All you have to do is beat the Dragoon to get the staff.
7. Full Bloom+ (Accessory)
Full Bloom+ gives you three strength points, thus boosting Donald’s physical attacks. When you equip several Full Bloom+, you can maximize Donald’s physical attack power.
6. Ribbon (Accessory)
Ribbon is a valuable accessory not just for Donald but for most Kingdom Hearts 2.5 Final Mix characters. It protects you from damage by taking away four points of the damage sustained. The ribbon boosts your resistance to attacks while also providing a solid defense strategy.
5. Shadow Archive+ (Accessory)
Shadow Archive+ unleashes three magic damage points on enemies. However, it’s the MP Rage ability to restore MP when you sustain damage that makes it a must-have in Donald’s build. The more Shadow Archive+ accessories you equip, the faster MP restores itself. Couple that with its already high magic attack, and you have a powerful accessory to destroy enemies.
4. The Centurion+ (Weapon)
Centurion+ staff drastically bolsters Donald’s physical attack. It gives you a whopping 13 points of strength and three points of magic damage. Furthermore, you also access the useful Damage Control ability. This takes away half of all the damage you sustain in battle. It’s pretty incredible to boost Donald’s health, allowing him to remain in battle for longer. To get Centurion+, you’ll need to craft its weaker version, Centurion, which requires the Strength Beyond Strength recipe.
3. Fantasia (Ability)
Fantasia is Donald’s signature ability. It’s a limit break that can turn the tide of battle in an instant. When activated, Fantasia first unleashes a Comet attack, which unravels like fireworks that whip enemies into the air. You can perform Comet six times before wrapping it up with the finisher move, Comet Rain. It unleashes a barrage of fireworks that decimates multiple enemies at once. However, Fantasia costs three of Donald’s MP points and drains all of Sora’s MP. So, be sure to use it wisely.
2. Premium Mushroom (Weapon)
The Premium Mushroom staff comes equipped with three strengths and nine magic points. It also gives you access to the MP Hastega special ability. MP Hastega comes in pretty handy to ramp up the rate at which your MP recharges. MP runs out pretty quickly in the heat of battle, so to possibly have an endless supply is a game-changer.
Among all the weapons Donald can wield, the Premium Mushroom inflicts the highest elemental damage. It makes all the difference, especially when Donald relies heavily on inflicting magic damage. At nine points, the damage dealt is pretty significant and will give Sora a helping hand when he’s overwhelmed by swarms of enemies. However, keep in mind that the Premium Mushroom staff, and weaker versions of it, are only dropped by Mushroom enemies. Specifically, Premium Mushroom is dropped by Mushroom XIII.
1. Save the Queen (Weapon)
It’s no secret the best weapon Donald can wield is Save the Queen. It’s a staff that comes equipped with five strengths and six magic points. But it’s the Hyper Healing special ability that seals the deal. Donald dies pretty fast in battle. Hyper Healing, however, spins Donald back into action faster than usual. If he’s knocked out, he revives with his total health intact. You can craft Save the Queen by synthesis using the Queen Recipe.
To unlock Save the Queen’s full potential, you can upgrade the staff through Synthesis to wield Save the Queen+. It will still inflict the same five physical and six elemental damage points. However, you’ll also gain access to the MP Hastega and MP Rage special abilities. The former will ensure that whenever your MP runs out, you can recharge it faster. Meanwhile, MP Rage gives you the trade-off to restore MP relative to the amount of damage you sustain. Overall, Save the Queen is the most well-rounded weapon you want to slot into Donald’s build as soon as you can.
