Abeyant Leap – Titan Leg armour

This exotic armour piece works alongside the Titan’s Barricade. Donning it gives extra armour to the wielder when they use their Barricade and spawns two seeking projectiles that aggressively track targets and suspend them. ‘Suspend’ is a new verb used with the Strand subclasses and is proving extremely strong, and Titans can mix this with specific Fragments to develop powerful Strand builds.

Conditional Finality – Stasis shotgun

The Destiny 2 Root of Nightmares raid exotic is the Conditional Finality, a double-barrel shotgun with Stasis rounds on one side and Solar rounds on the other. Landing almost all of the Stasis pellets freezes enemies, while landing almost all of the Solar pellets ignites them. Note that you can pair this with Fragments that amplify effects from frozen targets or ignitions to create some extremely powerful builds. Further, for the first time, Bungie has introduced a system wherein completing specific raid Triumphs increases your chance of an exotic.

Cyrtarachne’s Facade – Hunter helmet

This Hunter exotic helmet gives extra protection by granting body armour and flinch resistance after grappling. It’s powerful alongside the game’s Hunter’s Threadrunner Strand-based subclass, considering the subclass was designed with grapple-based mobility at its core.

Deterministic Chaos – heavy Void machine gun

Described as ‘rhythmic,’ this Void-based machine gun works such that every fourth bullet becomes a heavy projectile that weakens targets on impact. Every sixteenth heavy projectile makes the target volatile on impact. When paired with specific Aspects and Fragments that capitalise on weakened and volatile targets, this weapon is a force when equipped with the right builds.

Final Warning – kinetic Strand sidearm

This energy sidearm releases charged tracking rounds. Holding down the trigger of this sidearm marks targets and unloads a burst of bullets. Projectiles will also track aggressively toward marked targets when hipfiring.

Quicksilver Storm – kinetic auto rifle

The Quicksilver Storm is a kinetic auto rifle that uses Cloud Strider technology to turn into a rocket launcher and then a grenade launcher. Hitting multiple shots turns your projectiles into a micro-rocket, and after landing multiple rockets, you can switch modes into a grenade launcher. While its use is limited to specific cases, it’s an overall fun gun to use and boasts Corkscrew Rifling, High-Caliber Rounds, and Hand-Laid Stock as perks. Completing the Quicksilver Storm catalyst quest transforms the auto rifle into a Strand weapon and lets you spawn Threads with final blows from your grenade launcher.

Swarmers – Warlock leg armour

Tthe Warlock Strand Broodweaver subclass is among the most unique to Destiny, and this piece makes it even more powerful. It leverages the power of Strand to spawn ‘threadlings’ that infest and attack enemies after destroying tangles, which players produce by defeating enemies with Strand.

Verglas Curve – Stasis bow

The Season Pass exotic is shaping up to be quite a doozy. It features an icicle as an arrow and can freeze multiple enemies at once via its Hail Barrage perk. Exotic bows tend to be strong in Destiny 2, and this one isn’t any different. There’s also a catalyst quest you can begin immediately upon claiming the bow, which only stands to make it stronger.

Vexcalibur

Adding during the first weekly reset, the Vexcalibur is an exotic glaive that is unlocked via a secret mission in the EDZ. The glaive’s intrinsic trait, M1R Distribution Matrix, fires a spread of projectiles and gives the weapon a quick-draining shield. Blocking damage with your shield gives you and your nearby allies a Void overshield.

Winterbite – heavy Stasis glaive

This glaive releases a large ball of Stasis energy that locks onto targets and freezes them. Because several Stasis Aspects and Fragments increase the power of damage done to frozen targets, you should be able to pair this with the best Destiny 2 Stasis Titan builds, best Hunter Stasis builds, and best Warlock Stasis builds for maximum carnage. For example, with the Whisper of Refraction Stasis Fragment, defeating slowed or frozen targets grants class ability energy. With the Whisper of Bonds Fragment, defeating frozen targets grants Super energy. As long as the player has a steady stream of heavy ammo, equipping this glaive with the right Stasis build makes the combo extremely powerful.

We’ve been promised more exotic weapons and armour arriving with Destiny 2 season 20, along with some cool legendary weapons, so the party definitely hasn’t finished yet. Destiny will most likely introduce another exotic weapon with The Root of Nightmares Destiny 2 Lightfall raid.
