Alan Wake 2: How to acquire sawed-off shotgun

When playing as Saga Anderson, you’ll need weapons to protect yourself from the creatures of the darkness. The sawed-off shotgun is one of the first weapons you can find for her.

It packs a punch, and thanks to being sawed-off, it doesn’t take as much space in your inventory. You’ll have to do a bit of work and some smart thinking to get the weapon. This guide will show you how to solve the puzzle and acquire the sawed-off shotgun in Alan Wake 2.

Where to find sawed-off shotgun for Saga Anderson in Alan Wake 2

The sawed-off shotgun is encountered in Chapter Two: The Heart. During this chapter, you’ll have to visit the general store in Bright Falls to retrieve something in the freezer.

Once you’re in the general store, you’ll find the shotgun in a case on the wall. The only problem is that a padlock stops you from opening it. To unlock the padlock, you need a three-digit code. Fortunately, there’s a post-it note that gives you a clue: “Check with Lady Fortuna at the counter.”

Head to the counter and you’ll find a lottery ticket on top of a notepad there. There’s a bunch of three-digit numbers on the notepad which can be confusing. Look at the last two digits of the numbers on the notepad and compare them with the numbers on the lottery ticket. You’re looking for the lottery numbers that are on the notepad but haven’t been scratched out.

The answer is 739. Head back to the padlock and enter the code from top to bottom. The shotgun is now yours. To easily equip your new weapon, assign it to your Favorites which you can do by selecting it in your inventory and selecting the Quick Draw option.
