Activision boss claims Sony isn’t returning calls to discuss Call of Duty

Bobby Kotick, the current Activision Blizzard CEO claims that Sony isn’t returning calls to discuss Call of Duty or other opportunities.

It’s a bold claim to be made by Kotick and it’s worth remembering, there are two sides to a story. However, this is just another twist in the tale of Microsoft’s proposed $68.7 billion takeover of Activision Blizzard.

Is Sony really ignoring Activision or Microsoft?

Kotick made the claims during an interview with Fox Business earlier this week and discussed how Activision’s relationship with Sony has been strained in recent months.

Sony’s not on the phone to us; in fact, they’re not returning our phone calls,” he claimed. “One of the things that is surprising to us is that this is the time where, ordinarily, we would be talking about the future and new opportunities together for partnership. And they just haven’t been returning our phone calls.” Kotick continued: “So, I don’t know that we’re as valuable as maybe they’ve represented to the regulators that we are.

It seems Kotick and Sony have more to discuss than just Call of Duty

It doesn’t matter what form of relationship it may be, whether it’s business or personal, communication is always vital. If Sony is ignoring Activision, it seems the controversy surrounding Microsoft’s attempted takeover of the Call of Duty owner will never be resolved.

Xbox chief Phil Spencer has previously claimed that they do not intend to pull the rug from underneath Sony. What’s more, it has also been stated that Call of Duty will remain on PlayStation as long as there’s a console to ship to.
