Though to be honest, It can be difficult to keep up with all the titles at our fingertips. As we knock one down, it feels like two or three more make their way onto our list of games to play in the meantime. That is exactly the case for Game Pass in February, with one major title shaking up the pool of the best RPGs with its highly anticipated day-one release. As a result, it’s got some games stressing and attempting to hold their ground as the service’s Best RPGs. Nonetheless, this is how we see the best RPGs on Xbox Game Pass in February.

5. Citizen Sleeper

Developed by Jump Over the Age, Citizen Sleeper remains one of the best RPG’s up for grabs on Xbox Game Pass, entirely due to it’s intricate and immersive storyline. In this title, you play as a human whose consciousness has been transformed into a spaceship-commanding AI named Sleeper. After escaping, you are placed in the body of a dying robot, where you must carefully navigate each decision in order to keep your deteriorating body alive throughout the story.

Though Citizen Sleeper’s laid-back, dialogue-focused style may not be everyone’s cup of tea, it checks all the boxes as an RPG. Especially with how you can shape the playthrough based on your choices. Having said that, this game has multiple endings, so choose wisely. With an incredible soundtrack of perfect melodies and a comforting ambiance to round out a great atmosphere, Citizen Sleeper continues to rank as one of the best RPGs on Game Pass.

4. Dishonored 2

The sequel to the 2012 hit, Dishonored, easily stands as one of the best RPGs available on Xbox Game Pass right now. Back with another gritty storyline and an environment full of architecture that’s inspired by medieval Mediterranean castles all housing a strong victorian feel. At the start of Dishonored 2, you must choose between playing as Corvo Attano, the protagonist from the first game, or his daughter Emily Kaldwin. Each character has a unique set of abilities and upgrades that will help you.

You’ll also be glad to know that the two-choice combat system is back. This allows you to choose between a more stealth-based approach where you can sneak past foes in the shadows undetected. Or, a bloodier approach where you slash through them with your blade. Despite the fact that it is not an open-world game, Dishonored 2 does a fantastic job with character customization and control over the experience you want to have, resulting in it being one of the best RPGs on Game Pass.

3. Atomic Heart

The highly anticipated day-one release on Xbox Game Pass in February is none other than Atomic Heart. Due to its focus on using telekineses and other polymer abilities, the game has been dubbed an older brother to the notable Bioshock series. However the difference this time around is the focus on technology advancements, AI, and robots.

Set in a utopian USSR in the mid-1950s, You play as P-3, a USSR war veteran with a troubled past who is tasked with accompanying the brains behind the whole operation to Facility 3826 – a floating city (ring a bell to Bioshock Infinite?) where “Kollectiv 2.0” is being developed. The upcoming release of “Kollectiv 2.0” grants the ability for citizens to become experts in any profession imaginable. Altogether, chaos unravels and a brilliant story arch follows closely behind. As one of the best, newest, and most anticipated RPGs on Xbox Game Pass this February, it’s worth giving Atomic heart a playthrough.

2. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

The eleventh entry in the critically acclaimed Assassin’s Creed series delivers with Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. This time around in the epic adventure, you play as a legendary mercenary in Ancient Greece. This game nailed it in terms of map size and detail in every department. The narrative is descriptive and deep, with memorable characters, some of whom you may recognize, such as Socrates. While previous installments in the series felt quite directed in terms of the approach, the freedom present in Odyssey allows you to play it however you see fit. Granting you the freedom to embark on whatever quest piques your interest, or explore any plot of land not yet discovered.

Since the previous game, Origins, the combat system has been greatly improved. You can use light and heavy attacks, as well as dodges and rolls. Plus, with an arsenal of weapons, armor, and gear to choose from, there is no shortage of options for your play style. Furthermore, you can upgrade and engrave weapons and armor to gain powerful stat-boosting perks. Fallout is the series to play if you’re looking for a dystopic, post-apocalyptic RPG. Developed by Bethesda, this renowned series is known for its immersive storylines and captivating atmosphere. Each map is large, detailed, and filled with NPCs who hold countless memorable interactions. However, one of the best parts is each game comes with a handful of different endings, encapsulating the best aspects of what we love so much about RPGs. Overall, the entire Fallout series delivers a lot of fun to be had across the board and the entire series consists of what we love best about RPGs.

That’s why you’ll be glad to know that the entire Fallout series is up for grabs on Xbox Game Pass. Throughout it, You will face hundreds of different enemies, ranging from radioactive roaches to raiders and super mutants. Not to mention, surely fill your appetite for apocalyptic adventure. Hands down, Fallout takes the cake for the best RPGs on Game Pass. With that said, we recommend Fallout: New Vegas as our personal favorite.
