It seems like there is always some great sale or bundle on Steam filled with outstanding games. The ubiquitous PC games storefront is best known for its seasonal sales that offer some of the biggest games at huge discounts.

The latest is the Steam spring sale, which has a truly jaw-dropping amount of deals on some of the best games, old and new, big and small. The sale has begun as of March 14 and will run until March 21. In other words, you have one week to purchase all the games you want, or to resist the urge to empty your wallet.

Here are 12 games you should snatch up on Steam before the event’s end.

What hasn’t been said about Baldur’s Gate 3? It’s the game that snagged Game of the Year at The Game Awards (and many other places), not to mention capturing the hearts and minds of players for months after its release. The Dungeons & Dragons-based RPG offers up something for everyone, with deep roleplaying inside a reactive world full of interesting stories. If you’re looking for a game to sink hundreds of hours into, then look no further.

A close up of ELSTR in Signalis

The indie horror game scene has been delivering incredible experiences in spades of late. The best of these retro-inspired horror games is Signalis, a cosmic sci-fi story about an android searching for her lost lover. It has all the gameplay mechanics you might expect from the genre, like inventory management and over-complicated puzzles, but it takes place in a truly original environment that you can’t help but explore every corner of, even if you know something scary is waiting for you.

Geralt cutting down enemies

Sure, you’ve probably played the masterpiece of RPG design that is The Witcher 3, but what about its predecessor? If you haven’t given The Witcher 2 a chance, you really should rectify that. While the combat and side quest design isn’t on the level of 3, Assassins of Kings offers a fascinating story of political intrigue that lets Geralt follow one of two separate paths. It’s almost two games in one, so if you’ve turned over every stone in The Witcher 3, here’s where you can get your Geralt fix.

A conversation with Aki in Citizen Sleeper

Citizen Sleeper is one of the most expansive and unique RPGs out there. And yes, it is an RPG and not a visual novel, though its dice-based mechanics admittedly won’t be as action-forward as some players want. This is a game that goes hard on story and worldbuilding. Set on the Eye, a dilapidated space station full of communities trying to carve out a life for themselves, it casts you as the sleeper, a corporate slave in an artificial body with a consciousness copied from a real human. Recently escaping your owners, your goal in Citizen Sleeper is as basic as it comes—survive.

The Phantom Thieves standing in their day clothes

Image: Atlus

The best version of arguably the best entry in Atlus’ series of RPGs that blend dungeon crawling with social sim mechanics. The story of the Phantom Thieves taking down evil is one of the best heist stories in games. Full of aesthetic, mechanical, and narrative flair, Persona 5 Royal offers you a rich world of characters to fall in love with.

A giant axe almost cuts a woman's neck

You might be asking yourself why I would recommend a bundle of the last Uncharted game and the standalone DLC it spawned. What if you’ve never played an entry in the formerly PlayStation-exclusive series? Well, you don’t need to. These are just fun pulp adventures, and honestly the Legacy of Thieves Collection is worth it alone for the inclusion of The Lost Legacy, the best Uncharted game there is.

Bandits with guns firing towards the camera

Red Dead Redemption 2 is the best cowboy game ever and the best game Rockstar has made to date. Expanding on the almost simulation-like mechanics of GTA V and the original Red Dead Redemption, the sequel is a spectacle of video game world design. On top of that, the story of Arthur Morgan is an equally adrenaline-pumping and heart-breaking tale set at the end of the Wild West.

Leon stands in the rain

Capcom took one of the best horror games ever and made it even better in this remake. It also helped launch the remake trend we are knee-deep in now. Resident Evil 2 offers up a delectable haunted house experience to get lost in, and it is made all the better by the ever-present Mr. X who hunts you down at all times. With the benefit of modern third-person action controls, it’s never been easier to get the crap scared out of you by this masterpiece.

Two mech pilots talk to each other

Image: Pillow Fight

Who doesn’t love the inherent eroticism of being a mech pilot? That’s what visual novel Heaven Will Be Mine is all about. It’s the perfect game for fans of well-written stories and Neon Genesis Evangelion or Mobile Suit Gundam. With three different protagonists, each with their own story to explore, Heaven Will Be Mine is a great addition to your cart during the spring sale.

Yuffie holding a green materia

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth may be out now for PlayStation 5 owners, but PC players are going to have to wait a while. In the meantime, you can pick up the first part of the remake trilogy and get caught up for when Rebirth does finally release. Intergrade includes the Yuffie-centric Episode Intermission as well, which lays the groundwork for the character’s story in Rebirth.

A cowboy testifying in court

The only thing better than saving money on one game is saving money on multiple games, which is why this bundle of the first three Ace Attorney games is so great. For visual novel or detective fans, these three games are a great entry into the franchise and include 14 episodes across the trilogy. That means you’ll have plenty of trials to win, and even more opportunities to pound your podium and shout, “OBJECTION!”

Two fighters kicking each other with graffiti effects

Street Fighter is so back, and it’s also more newcomer-friendly than ever thanks to the modern control layout of Street Fighter 6. Bringing old and new fighters together within one of the fiercest fighting games available, this is a must-buy for fans of the genre. It also has a fascinating story mode that helps you get acquainted with the particulars of this entry’s mechanics.

Of course, you don’t have to stop at just 12 games. Keep perusing the sale and you’re sure to find even more titles worth your time and money.
