Fortnite Chapter 4 Season OG map and how to find hot spots

November 20, 2023: Added Frosty Flights, which was added as part of the V27.10 update to the Fortnite Season OG map.

What does the Fortnite map look like? It’s back to the original island for the newest and shortest season, and that means we’re speeding through several realm-altering changes as the weeks go by. Season OG is a lively throwback to Fortnite’s origins, and fans are eager to see what’ll change in the near future.

As the battle royale game is constantly in flux, everything in this guide probably will change throughout the season. This goes also for the many Fortnite weapons, which throughout the Season 5 to Season X period in Chapter 1 went through some wild times. So, pull up a chair, and perhaps a tissue to catch those nostalgic tears of joy, as we go through the changes to come to the Fortnite map in Season OG.

With the return of the old map, here are all the classic POIs, including which ones had the best loot and secrets:

• Fatal Fields – a small farmstead with not a great deal of loot, but plenty of barns to hide in.
• Flush Factory – a factory filled with toilets and very little loot. Nobody really went here.
• Frosty Flights – a hangar base with plenty of loot and planes to fly with.
• Greasy Grove – a set of houses, diners, and gas stations filled with decent loot.
• Haunted Hills – a spooky place with good loot potential.
• Junk Junction – a junkyard with good loot, if a bit far from the center of the map.
• Lazy Links – a golf course with loot in the bunkers.
• Lonely Lodge – a wooden cabin with plenty of loot, even though it’s far away.
• Loot Lake – tons of loot potential here, though the water may hinder your progress.
• Lucky Landing – has good loot potential, but is otherwise quite bland.
• Paradise Palms – lots of high-rise apartments, but not a lot of loot for the space,
• Pleasant Park – one of the go-to landing spots, and for good reason as
• Retail Row – another deceptively popular spot, though this one has fantastic loot potential.
• Risky Reels – an outdoor cinema with good loot potential.               
• Salty Springs – a collection of spouting springs, but not a lot of loot here.
• Shifty Shafts – several levels of mines with loot hidden around every corner.
• Snobby Shores – the least popular place on the map, and not just because of its location and loot possible.
• Tilted Towers  – by far the most popular part of the Fortnite map, as it saw plenty of attention back in the day with lots of on.
• Tomato Temple – a temple dedicated to having loot everywhere you look. Nobody really visited this area because it was a labyrinth compared to other high-loot areas.
• Wailing Woods – an assortment of big trees and very little loot.

Season OG – Season 6 (V27.00 November 9 hotfix)

All POIs remain the same, and the map layout hasn’t changed, but the island over Loot Lake from Season 6 returns. Some weapons are vaulted, and others added.

Season OG – Season 7 and 8 (V27.10 November 16 hotfix)

In the original Fortnite Season 7, we saw the introduction of the lower-left corner, eliminating Greasy Grove and introducing Polar Peak, Frosty Flights, and Happy Hamlet. Risky Reels also became Zarbot’s Block. In Season 8, a volcano appeared in the top-right corner, burying Tomato Temple and Risky Reels, which became Sunny Steps. The Block also appeared in the northwest, while local flooding turned Lazy Links into the pirate-themed Lazy Lagoon. The snowy areas also started to recede.

This is different in Season OG Season 7 and 8, which only adds Frosty Flights and the frozen lower-left chunk of the island, but is otherwise the same as Chapter 6’s map.

Season OG – Season 9 and X (V27.11 November 23 hotfix)

After some time in the bunker, the main changes in the original Season 9 were that Neo Tilted and Mega Mall replaced Tilted Towers and Retail Row. The volcano was also hollowed out to become Pressure Plant, and Loot Lake was almost dried up, exposing the horrors beneath. Season X only changed Dusty Divot into Dusty Depot, but before long, a cataclysmic event brought a whole new map in the form of Chapter 2. It’s unclear if Season OG will change the map completely to adopt the futuristic names and look of these seasons.
