Go Go Muffin opens pre-registration ahead of upcoming closed beta test
  • Pre-registration for the wonderfully named Go Go Muffin is now available
  • A closed beta test will commence from October 23rd
  • Interested players can register their interest on the official site

Today, XD Games has announced that pre-registration has opened for their upcoming MMO - Go Go Muffin - for iOS and Android. But that's not all. They are also hosting a closed beta test, which kicks off on October 23rd, so if you want to get involved in that, head to the official website.

If you've missed our previous coverage – I'm not offended, I promise – then let me fill you in. Go Go Muffin is a fantasy MMO that looks to combine the usual tropes of the genre with the wholesomeness found in games like Animal Crossing. Kicking back in an MMORPG has never been my idea of relaxing but I'm open to being proven wrong.

It comes from the developers of RO Ragnarok: Idle Poring, so you can expect convenience right out of the gate. For instance, it offers a vertical mode that suits one-handed play alongside one-tap voice chats with teammates. It's all designed to work flawlessly on the go, essentially.

As for the story, it starts after Ragnarok has taken place, leaving nothing but ruin in its wake. Wait, what's that? That's not the case here? Apparently, the usual world-ending apocalyptic event has actually left everything fertilised and ready to rebuild, hopefully in a more beautiful way. Odin, you didn't need to worry so much, pal.

To make everything lovely again, you venture into the wilderness with the titular Muffin, your feline companion. Together, you search for the remnants of Yggdrasil, the crown of Asgard. Well, that's the plan anyway. This is an MMO. I imagine several distractions will pop up along the way.

Before embarking on that quest, though, you need to pick your class. There are five to choose from, including Swordbearer, Wayfarer, Scholar, Shadowlash, and Acolyte. Each can advance various job tiers as you level up, bringing more flexibility to your character.

Go Go Muffin will release on the App Store and Google Play as a free-to-play game with in-app purchases. If interested, you can pre-order ahead of launch for your preferred platform by clicking the buttons below.
