Surely there’s quite a lot that Ubisoft will be working on in the time it’s afforded itself now that Assassin’s Creed Shadows has been delayed, and a new rumour suggests that one of those items is a co-op mode.
The claim comes from Insider Gaming, who’ve been right in the past with various Ubisoft-related stories, though it’s still best to keep in mind that even if they are correctly leaked, game features that have not been made public can always be cancelled.
Still, it’s an intriguing proposition, since Shadows features a proper dual protagonist storyline, rather than a narrative where players pick two sides of a coin.
According to the report the mode is codenamed LEAGUE and has been something that the team has been working on for quite some time, and is not something they are tacking on as something to do during the extra time it now has.
It’s claimed to be exactly what you might suspect, a mode where Yasuke and Naoe are controlled by a different player each, and you fight together with friends. It wouldn’t be surprising if it was similar to Ghost Of Tsushima’s Legends mode.
If this report does spoil the surprise, it’s a little upsetting, but it is exciting that something like this could be coming. It seems like it would fit perfectly, if done well.
