Not Now, now
- Monster Hunter Outlanders is a new entry in the cult-classic series, coming to mobile
- Unlike Monster Hunter Now, this is more in line with the classic open-world nature of previous games
- Explore, craft and hunt down enormous monsters in classic MH fashion
Monster Hunter Now has proven pretty popular with fans, but for some, the geolocation-based nature of it may not be quite what they're looking for in their favourite series. Sadly, if they wanted a more classic Monster Hunter experience on mobile, they'd be out of luck - until now. Monster Hunter Outlanders is a new 3D co-op experience that brings the full-fledged gameplay of the series to mobile.
Set in a variety of open 3D environments, Monster Hunter Outlanders is a massive break from the previously established Now. Explore lush, vast and open environments, and craft new gear and equipment before taking on enormous monsters in titanic combat.
Coming to us from TiMi Studio Group, who also developed Age of Empires Mobile and Pokémon Unite, Monster Hunter Outlanders is intended to draw in classic Monster Hunter players who might baulk at the AR nature of Now. There's no official release date in sight, but several official play tests are set to take place at some point in future, so we'll keep you posted as news comes in.
Slice 'n dice
Well! Isn't this a turn-up for the books? Considering the popularity of Monster Hunter Now, I'm genuinely surprised that Outlanders has come into being. One would've thought that oversaturing the market on mobile was the last thing Capcom wanted to do with one of their more niche franchises, but the leaps and bounds of popularity that Monster Hunter has found over recent years seem to translate into increased confidence in the series.
Monster Hunter Outlanders promises not only a single but multiplayer experience with plenty of community elements to let you hunt alone or as a team, however you choose to take on the hunt.
Still, if you're a long-time Monster Hunter Now fan, there's no need to break from it just yet. While you're waiting for Outlanders to arrive, why not get a boost in the AR title with our list of constantly updated Monster Hunter Now codes?
