Microsoft is seemingly keen to know why some developers have opted for the PS5 over the Xbox Series X/S, with a post on its official developer website looking to gain feedback on the matter.
“If you aren’t on Xbox, we’d love to know why. And honestly, if you are using our competitor’s products, you probably have a great perspective we could learn from.” The format holder added that it is hoping to avoid an “echo chamber” and get a new perspective from people who aren’t “deep in your community.”

Both the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S launched in a similar time frame, although it’s well known at this point that Sony’s console has been comfortably outselling its rival for a long time now. Microsoft doesn’t divulge sales figures anymore (it hasn’t since the Xbox One days), but recent reports have the PS5 outselling Xbox Series X/S by 3:1.
Microsoft adopted a multiformat strategy earlier this year by bringing a number of its Xbox console exclusives to PlayStation and Nintendo platforms, a trend that looks set to continue into 2025 with Indiana Jones and the Great Circle coming to PS5 in spring next year.
