Goddess of Victory Nikke x Neon Genesis Evangelion collab returns for a second part, available now

It shouldn't be surprising that, after a hugely successful collaboration during the summer of last year, Goddess of Victory: Nikke is once more teaming up with the landmark anime series Neon Genesis Evangelion. This newest collab sees new story events, skins and more, as well as some returning characters you may've missed out the first time around!

Little surprise that there's also a new trailer to enjoy to celebrate the launch, featuring the iconic theme A Cruel Angel's Thesis from the series. Neon Genesis Evangelion, which was critically acclaimed for its strange and cerebral take on the mecha genre, has been a favourite both in Japan and globally; so I won't insult your intelligence by reciting a canned synopsis.

Instead, let me tell you what's coming with this newest event that's now available! Asuka: WILLE, Rei Ayanami and Sakura will all appear in a new storyline now set in the Evangelion universe itself. You'll also be able to enjoy a multitude of new skins (including free ones), a 3D event map and a brand-new minigame to boot.

Neon Genesis Evangelion is one of those series which, ironically is so well-beloved despite being perceived as a critique of anime culture at large when it first aired. But perhaps it's that curious mix of typical anime tropes with a larger and more grandiose storyline that attracts so many fans.

Either way, this latest collab promises to offer both returning content from the previous entry, not to mention a whole host of fresh additions to boot!
