Winged introduces your kids to literary classics as a cute platformer, out now
  • Winged is a new auto-runner platformer available on iOS and Android
  • Explore worlds inspired by classics of literature and introduce your kids to reading
  • Collect pages to unlock new worlds and read through excerpts from famous literary pieces

In this world of smartphones and tablets, streaming and gaming, it can seem impossible to introduce your kids to the classics of literature. Or reading at all for that matter. But Winged, a new release produced by Sorara Game Studio in collaboration with Druzina Content, may just be the avenue to introduce them to classic books!

Winged is an auto-runner platformer where your character races through a variety of worlds inspired by the classics of children's literature. The protagonist Ruth uses her wings to navigate these worlds, as she collects pages from classic literature to unlock both new worlds to explore and books to read.

Boasting 50 stages, five maps and ten books, you'll explore worlds inspired by titans of literature such as Alice Through the Looking Glass and the Arabian Nights. Meanwhile, unlockable samples to read between levels include excerpts from Don Quixote, Peter Pan, Jack and the Beanstalk and more!

Winged also serves as Druzina Content's first solo game, with a heavy emphasis on female protagonism in their projects embodied by the main character. Aside from that the emphasis with Winged is to produce something which all the members of a family can play and enjoy together.

Winged definitely provides an intriguing way to introduce your kids to literary classics. Although whether it'll foster a lifelong appreciation for reading is anyone's guess I've no doubt that it'll prove to be a fun time for children and parents to share. And being available on both iOS and Android, in half a dozen languages, there's no reason not to check it out!

In the meantime if you're looking for a little more variety in what to play why not check out our list of the top five new mobile games to try this week? Featuring the best launches from the last seven days.
