The Wrapp - Cute Cats, Eldritch Fish and Free Jedi

Hey there, welcome to our latest edition of The Wrapp.

This is a chance for you to see what the various members of the Pocket Gamer team are planning to play over this weekend and will, hopefully, give you an idea of some of the weird and wonderful things we get up to when we’re not keeping you up to speed with the latest news and tips. Heck, you might even find a new game to play.

One of the rare cats I’ve been trying to lure in Neko Atsume 2 finally popped up in my lovely yard, so it’s time to remodel it and attract even more cats to come play with the toys I leave out for them in this neverending cycle of servitude.

While I tinker around with remodelling options for my cat-themed yard over the weekend, I’m also hoping to get my hands on an early version of the equally cat-themed Claws & Chaos. It has a capybara in a wooden onsen tub and a yuzu lemon on its head, along with a bear in a wizard costume holding what suspiciously looks like the Elder Wand. ‘Nuff said.

I'm a bit stumped as to what I'm gonna play this week since my rage was drained by Jump King. But maybe I'm looking at this the wrong way and should go to the opposite end of the feelings spectrum to extreme chill. I need to look for something that makes me calm enough that I want to put it down because I'm so calm. It looks like this game called Little Corner Tea House is kinda new and in Early Access. Let's see what's going on and whether tea time will end up being me time.

I've also gotta keep searching for a new candidate for Off the AppStore. I think I'll go for a narrative adventure this time and see if there are some good stories out there.

I’ve moved up slightly from last week’s 132/155 of the Space-Time Smackdown Pack to 143/155, and now thoroughly into the grind zone. Much like with the first three packs, a lot of the complication comes in the EX cards that, except in god packs, tend to only appear as the final card in the packs. Four of those Twelve cards that I need are EX cards… so it’s going to be a slog.

This weekend I won’t be playing any games as we’re currently moving places!

This weekend I will be jumping headfirst into the Crystal of Atlan beta. From the small amount that I have been able to experience so far I am getting some Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds which could be pretty interesting. I just hope it isn’t as hand-holdy and potentially automated as that though. An MMO that can play itself sort of defeats the objective. I want to lose hours of my life in a virtual world! Not watch my character complete the quest themselves!!!

I may actually take a leap in and install the Epic Games Store this weekend. Why? Because despite my stated position that Steam was and still is the better storefront, it’s hard to argue with some of the great releases I got for free on Epic. Control, and Total War: Troy. So I’m sorely tempted by Knights of the Old Republic

Black Salt Games' wonderful Dredge is floating onto mobile next week, and I'll be writing up a review! So, I'll spend the majority of my gaming time trawling through the new port to see if it's up to snuff. I sincerely hope it is. Alongside that, I might check out Tribe Nine. Many years ago, I watched the entirety of Prince of Tennis and have held a lingering love for sports anime since, even though I've only watched one. So, even though baseball isn't my sport, I'm looking forward to checking that out.

Outside of gaming, I have a 10k running event on Sunday. That means leaving my house for a change to see how quickly I can get around the course. Why not just run around my neighbourhood, you might reasonably ask? Well, I don't get a pretty medal for doing that now, do I?
